NEW YEAR

The members of our Church feel happy and Blessed inside the Church when the bell strikes  12 O’ clock at Midnight during the Watch night service. The services start by 11.00 p.m. as a covenant Service followed by the Holy Communion Service.

The New Year service is held at 8.00 a.m. on the 1st day of the year. Both services will be filled with people in thousands.

May your year be filled with peace, prosperity and love. May God’s blessings shower upon you and bestow upon each of you a bright, healthy and peaceful new year.

ASH WEDNESDAY

Ash Wednesday is the first day of the Lent. Holy Ash Wednesday service start at 7:00 AM. It marks the beginning of the season of the lent which lasts 40 days. During this season of lent the Church organizes several revival meetings for the spiritual nourishment of the congregation. They are helpful for them meditating on the cross and associating with them and also for their self-examination and spiritual renewal.

While starting a Lenten sacrifice on Ash Wednesday  it is customary to pray for strength to keep it through the whole season of Lent.

The placement of ashes is accompanied by the words, “Repent, and believe in the Gospel” or the dictum “Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return.” The ashes are prepared by burning palm leaves from the previous year’s Palm Sunday celebrations.

PALM SUNDAY

The Palm Sunday worship is conducted as Holy Communion Worship.  The Church will be decorated with full of Palm leaves. The members and the presbyters go for a Witnessing Procession on the day on the streets outside Church Campus. Congregation procession carrying Palm leave and Holy cross and singing Hosanna.  4000 people will participate in procession. The members and the children enjoy the procession by singing, reciting biblical words, and shouting slogans like Hosanna to Praise God.

Palm Sunday is celebrated by the blessing and distribution of palm branches (or the branches of other, native trees), representing the palm branches that the crowd scattered before Christ as he rode into Jerusalem.

GOOD FRIDAY

The Season of Lent begins forty days before Easter. The Good Friday service service for elders start at 7:00 AM. During the Season of Lent Revival meetings, retreats are arranged at the weekend. Special speakers are invited to share the word of God during these days.

The events leading up to Jesus’ crucifixion are recorded in the four Gospels of the New Testament.

The Good Friday service will be held as three-hour meditation on the seven words of Jesus Christ spoken on the Cross from 11.00 a.m. to 3.00 p.m.  On that day the entire business community of Coimbatore City and Surroundings will down their shutters and attend the meditation service in several thousands.

EASTER

The Resurrection Day of our LORD Jesus Christ is celebrated the Easter Sunday. There are two Worship Services, the first service starts at 4.00 a.m. and the second service starts at 8.00 a.m. Both services will be held as the Holy Communion Service.

It is the culmination of the Passion of Jesus Christ, preceded by Lent, a 40-day period of fasting, prayer, and penance.

The people of the Church from various places of Coimbatore come and worship the Resurrected LORD with great joy and reaffirmed their faith in the Resurrection of Jesus.

PRAYER HALL DEDICATION

May 1st is the Prayer hall dedication day. This day is celebrated in grand manner in our church. Fellowship breakfast will be given for all on this Day. 

                

VBS

e Vacation Bible School (VBS) is one of the many ways in which Jesus is seeking to bring children and youth into his kingdom.

The initials, VBS, explained concisely mean

V- A school conducted during a vacation period.

B- A school following a Bible-centered course of study.

S- A school maintaining a regular schedule.

Every year VBS conducted based on theme for that year.

MISSIONARY  SUNDAY 

Missionary Sunday is a special day set aside in our church to celebrate on jube 2nd week. Missionary Sunday is a special day set aside in our church to celebrate and support the work of missionaries around the world. It is an opportunity for our congregation to learn about different mission fields, hear inspiring stories of God’s work through missionaries, and renew our commitment to be actively involved in spreading the Gospel.

Missionary Sunday is a time of celebration, education, and commitment as we recognize the crucial role missionaries play in advancing the Kingdom of God. It is an occasion to learn, pray, give, and discern how each of us can be actively involved in sharing the love and truth of Christ with the world.

HARVEST FESTIVAL (Thanks giving Festival)

It is a festival of offering to the Lord.  Christians celebrate the giving festival every year expressing their thankfulness to the Lord in several ways. With much gratefulness, the congregation members celebrate the Harvest Festival by bringing offertory to the LORD as first yielding, gold ornaments, Gift articles, etc.

There will be nearly fifty stalls set by the families having different kinds of eatables, handmade articles, fruits, etc. It is a day of more festival look for the whole congregation.  The articles offered by the congregation will be sold by auction.  The entire returns will be added to the Church Building fund.

CHURCH DEDICATION DAY 

Our Church Anniversary day falls on the 27th of September which is also the day of the formation of the Church of South India. 

Every year we commemorate this day with Holy Communion Service at 7.30 a.m. and followed by a Fellowship breakfast.  

And on the same weekend evenings, there will be cultural program, Gospel enactment, and music Programmes Presented to the congregation.  It is a time of happiness and more to say the illuminated Church with color lights makes the people feel Joy.

ASANAM (ANNUAL UNITY FEAST)

Though it marks the celebration of the Church Anniversary – its celebration extends by feeding the needy people and poor people. By doing so we are fulfilling the command of Jesus “You give something to eat (Math. 14:16) at least once in a year. In commemoration of dedications of the New Church, the day is celebrated grandly manner annually by arranging a great feast. Asanam is celebrated in a grand manner, with 20000 people having feast. Besides our congregation the feast is arranged for thousands of people irrespective of color, caste, creed, and religion who will take part in the feast. We also extend our love of 50 feast to all the inmates of orphanages, senior citizen homes, leprosy homes, homes for the destitute, physically handicapped, and all other deserving people in and around the city of Coimbatore. 

WOMEN FELLOWSHIP SUNDAY 

தென்னிந்திய திருச்சபை 1947ஆம் ஆண்டு செப்டம்பர் 27ம் தேதி அன்று உருவாக்கப்பட்டது. தென்னிந்திய திருச்சபை பெண்களிடையே ஒரு பெரிய மாற்றத்தை, தலைமைத்துவத்தை, கிறிஸ்துவை மையமாகவும், தமிழர் பண்பாட்டை மையமாகவும் உருவாக்க வேண்டும் என்ற எண்ணத்துடன் பெண்கள் ஐக்கிய சங்கத்தை உருவாக்கியது.

சிறந்த கிறிஸ்தவ தலைவர்களை உருவாக்க வேண்டிய பணி பெண்கள் ஐக்கிய சங்கம் மட்டுமே குடும்ப வாழ்விலும், திருச்சபை வாழ்விலும் செய்ய முடியும் என்ற நம்பிக்கையிலே உருவாக்கப்பட்டதுதான்.

SUNDAY SCHOOL ACTIVITIES

Sunday School is a vital ministry in our church, providing a nurturing environment for children and youth to grow in their faith, learn biblical truths, and develop a personal relationship with Jesus.Bible games are a fun way to boost your children’s ministry or Sunday School lesson.

We offer a variety of engaging activities within our Sunday School program to make learning about God’s Word interactive, fun, and meaningful.

Here are some activities commonly included in our Sunday School curriculum.

SENIOR CITIZEN SUNDAY

Celebrated 2nd week of November. More than 500 senior citizen will be celebrated on this Sunday. Presentation will be giving in honor of senior of citizen.  Shawl, flower bouquet and Gift will be given for all the senior citizen. Fellowship lunch will be given for all on this Sunday.

 

CHRISTMAS

On the very first day of  December itself, the Carol Round heralding the birth of Jesus Christ starts and it goes up to 22nd of December.  The Candlelight Service is another delightful program of the Season.  On Christmas Day we have two Worship services.  The first service start at 4.00 a.m. and the second service start at 8.00 a.m.  Both services will be filled with people in thousands.  Simultaneously the branch Churches too have their Worship services in their respective places.  The Church and the premises will peek with people.  The following day of Christmas Parish Tea will be arranged, games and sports will be conducted for all age groups of the congregation members and gifts will be given to the winners. During christmas carols rounds we as 5 teams visit houses singing carols with gods message. We also give Gifts, Cakes and Calender.
